The name of the district of Izcuchaca, owes its name to the historic and beautiful lime bridge that derives from two Quechua words Izcu = lime; Chaca = bridge. Izcuchaca in 1807 received the title of ´´ Pueblo de la Santa Cruz de Izcuchaca, annex to the Doctrine of Conayca.
It was created with the category of town by Law s / n of September 4, 1876, and as a district by Law No. 4612 of January 5, 1923
Izcuchaca is a locality in Peru, in the Province of Huancavelica, located at 2,880 m of altitude, 78.0 km from the provincial capital, on the northern slopes of the Huamanrazo hill (5,278 m). The Acobambilla River runs through the municipal area before joining the Mantaro River.
Izcuchaca, the most important city between Huancayo and Huancavelica, is a town with a mild climate that has a beautiful colonial stone bridge.
In the place you can find beautiful ceramic and porcelain works, from the Craft School that has been operating in Izcuchaca for twenty years. In the area there are also hot springs and archaeological remains, accessible only on foot.
It is the main activity of the district capital, to the point that Izcuchaca is a cosmopolitan town made up of people from different parts of the country, there are up to 06 restaurants (04 in Izcuchaca and 02 in Tambillo); 06 hotels (05 in Izcuchaca and 01 in Tambillo) with a service capacity of up to 50 people, more than a dozen commercial stores with all kinds of products.
