The region was discovered on January 6, 1502, the day of the Magi, the origin of its name, and the history of Angra dos Reis is populated by ships loaded with riches and pirate attacks. It was through its port that it drained part of the gold brought from Minas Gerais. The numerous islands that make up the Bay of Angra dos Reis exude sophistication.
