The parish church of Isla Cristina is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, and is located on the same street as the Town Hall. It was rebuilt after the civil war, by the villagers' donations.
Beside the door is the monument to Father Miravent, the first parish priest of the city. Its façade is whitewashed, in which three images made with tiles: at the gateway Nuestra Señora del Dores, certain Our Lady of the Rosary, and left Nuestra Senora del Carmen (in this parish celebrated or in honor of the Virgen del Carmen). There is a bell tower on the left side.
Inside it has many beautiful sculptures, such as the Virgen de la Soledad (18th century) a reclining Christ (Joseph Planes Peñalver), Ntra. (From Jose Sanjuan Navarro), Christ in his triumphal entry and the Queen of Angels (Jose Vazquez Sanchez), Captive Christ, Ntra. Ms. de la Paz, Ntra. Mrs. de la Piedad, and Ntra. Mrs. Del Rosario, the patron saint of the city since 1788.
From this chapel come various processions during Holy Week.
