The Blumenau Cultural Foundation, a legal entity governed by public law, was established by Municipal Law No. 353 of July 30, 1952, which founded the “Dr. Blumenau House”. Coordinates, through its units, various programs to foster culture, preservation of memory and the arts.
Mission:
The Blumenau Cultural Foundation's main objectives are to implement a culture support policy, formulate, coordinate and execute programs to encourage artistic and cultural manifestations, stimulate art and cultural research, support public and private cultural institutions, and encourage production. and publicizing cultural events and integrating the community with cultural activities. Its current vision is to make the institution a national reference in the promotion of cultural public policies.
Under the Foundation's responsibility are structures such as the Colony Family Museum, Dr. Blumenau Mausoleum, Blumenau Art Museum, Memory House of School No. 1, Itoupava Village Cultural Center, Edith Gaertner Garden, Cats Cemetery, Habit Museum and Customs. Aware of society's needs, the Blumenau Cultural Foundation carries out and supports continuous or punctual actions aimed at meeting the demands of cultural activities for the city of Blumenau, and often for the Middle Valley region of Itajaí.
The programs developed by the Foundation include festivals, exhibitions, forums, lectures, exhibitions, editorials, collection loans and events for various audiences.
