The Platz der Luftbrücke is the Berlin traffic junction on the border between the districts of Tempelhof and Kreuzberg. The entrance to Tempelhof Airport is on the square. The buildings a the square house all the public administration, administration of the police headquarters. Not far away is the Viktoriapark al resort. The name of the square becomes one of the Berlin airlifts of 1948/1949.
On the square, the Berlin north-south main road of Bundesstraße 96 (Mehringdamm, Tempelhofer Damm) crosses with the east-west connection from Neukölln (Columbiadamm) to Schöneberg (Dudenstraße). Manfred-von-Richthofen-Straße is located in the south-west of the square in the Neu-Tempelhof area.
At the northern end of Platz Nord the underground station Platz der Luftbrücke of the underground line U6 connection to the express traffic in Berlin. From 1926 to 1937 the station was called Kreuzberg. Access for the property of the airport is on the square.
