The 330,00 hectare estuary, coastland and natural lakes stretches some 220 km from St Lucia up to the border with Mozambique. iSimangaliso is the largest wetland area in Africa and is characterized by its broad diversity of wildlife, marine life and bird life.
The town of St Lucia is fast becoming a popular destination for eco-tourists using it as a base to explore the beautiful surroundings. St. Lucia itself is a neatly laid out town with a bustling main street and offers a number of retail options and restaurants.
