The Municipal Museum of Caminha is located in the middle of the historical center of the town and is housed in a building dating from the 18th century. XVII / XVIII that, until being adapted to Museum and Library, in 1989, served as Court and Chain of the District of Caminha. Today, the building houses the Municipal Museum of Caminha which exposes an important collection of archaeological objects that document the history of the region from Prehistory to Romanization.
The Municipal Museum of Caminha is an independent institution of the Caminha Municipal Council, which is dedicated to collecting, preserving, interpreting, displaying and communicating the patrimonial values of the municipality of Caminha, for the benefit of the public.
