It is born as a product of the subdivision of the farm ´´La Laguna´´. Its name is due to the locals; When looking at it from the hills, especially in spring, they thought they saw a ´´Green Lagoon´´ due to its lush vegetation.
Laguna Verde remains peaceful, rustic and its beaches are not polluted. Its corners of primitive beauty that are born every day with the charm of birds and slowly die at twilight, allow to revive Mother Nature.
The natural beauty, the solitude of its cliffs, its numerous coves and its forests invite to long walks and the inner reunion. You can go fishing, hunting, diving, underwater hunting or just sit in a corner and watch the town sleep when evening comes.
Laguna Verde has grown under the cover of its extensive white sand beach, whose borders mark the natural limit of a closed bay
Valparaíso is located 112 km. from Santiago de Chile.
There are several alternatives to get to Valparaíso:
By bus
The trip takes 1 hour 45 minutes from Santiago. Existing departures with a frequency of 15 minutes, the bus companies offer a good level of service and comfort.
By car
For those who wish to arrive by car from Santiago, they should take Route 68, the estimated travel time being 1 hour and 30 minutes.
It is located 18 km south of Playa Ancha, the high sector of Valparaíso, which is reached by the Quebrada Verde road. It is suitable for sunbathing and fishing.
Halfway there is the Laguna El Plateado, surrounded by forest, headquarters of the Fishing and Hunting Club.
High hills covered with dense pine trees, give the place an enchanted air, forming an idyllic setting. The tranquility of the area is one of its greatest virtues. From Laguna Verde there is a 10 km dirt road that, between curves and pine forests, leads to Las Docas beach. A beautiful and mysterious place, which in times past was the ideal refuge for pirates. In this natural and privileged viewpoint, the sunsets and romantic sunsets acquire a special touch.
